Closing Party Mandala
DiverseWorks will host a closing for the Real (Art)World on Aug. 11th. I've been painting mandalas recently, and this gave me the idea of impermanence. I wanted to make a mandala that addressed impermanence more, so I'm going to draw a giant mandala on my studio floor with chalk. The more people that come into the studio, the more their feet will erase the mandala. So at the end of the night, if the mandala is erased I will be happy because that meant many people came to see my paintings. This is what I take from Buddhism.
Thanks for coming
I enjoyed sharing the Henry Darger movie with everyone who came to see it. Unfortunately, I burned the popcorn.
Cool Show
The Radical Nautical opening in Austin was so much fun. Gallery Lombardi really knows how to throw a party. My friends and I had to sneek into the side entrance because the line to get in was so long. I want to send a shoutout to Rachel Koper.
